Welcome to the House of Mini Floofs, where life is full of wagging tails, big personalities, and endless adventures! Our pack is a mix of lovable dachshunds, our loyal Labrador mix, and two humans who are completely outnumbered (and wouldn’t have it any other way). Whether we’re snuggling on the couch, exploring new places, or taste-testing homemade treats, every day is an adventure in our little floofy family.

Hi there! I’m the proud dog mom behind the House of Mini Floofs. My heart belongs to dachshunds (and, of course, the rest of my little pack), and when I’m not showering them with love and belly rubs, I’m documenting our life together — from the adventures we share to the cozy moments spent at home. I’m the author of Sharp Absence, a romantic suspense novel, and I’m always on the lookout for my next great read. Whether it’s playing with the pups, working on my latest writing project, or just enjoying a good book, I’m all about making life as full and joyful as possible.

Ken

Meet Ken, the backbone of our pack and a proud Army veteran. When he’s not working in IT, he’s busy being an awesome dog dad and indulging in his passions for video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and anime. Ken loves to take the floofs to work with him, rotating which pup gets the privilege of joining him. Whether he’s leveling up in a video game, or enjoying an anime marathon, Ken always makes time for his pack, making sure they get the attention (and belly rubs) they deserve. He’s our protector and provider, with a heart full of love for his mini floofs.

Supreme Queen of Comfort

Khaleesi Dax

Khaleesi is our 13-year-old princess, born on February 28th, 2012, and she truly lives up to her name. A lover of supreme comfort, she’s the laziest member of the pack and firmly believes in lounging as a lifestyle. Always attached to Kate’s side, Khaleesi is as sweet as she is regal. Named after the “Mother of Dragons” from Game of Thrones and Dax from Deep Space Nine (for her spots), she’s the queen of our hearts, ruling with kindness and a love for relaxation.

The Goofy Gentle Giant

Rodney Patrick

Patrick, our 12-year-old ball of energy, was born on January 27th, 2013. He’s goofy, loud, and often lovingly referred to as our baby elephant. Despite his allergies to nearly everything, Patrick is the sweetest soul, with a big heart full of love. He’s known for his fierce dislike of the mailman but will happily greet his vet with tail wags. Named after Patrick Stewart and Rodney from Stargate Atlantis, he’s the goofy guy who keeps our days full of laughter and joy.

Princess of Floof & Dumplings

Hera Karat

Hera, our sweet girl, was born on July 4th, 2024, and has captured our hearts with her joyful personality. Known for her adorable little talking sounds, Ken is completely smitten by the happy noises she makes whenever she sees him. Hera is the true originator of the “floof,” as Ken lovingly calls her “floofy paws.” Her name, Hera, fits with her sister, name, while Karat nods to the strong, kick-ass knight from the House of Khrar. She’s a bundle of joy and sweetness wrapped in fluff.

Tiny Tyrant & Mischief Maker

Thor Ilemina

Thor, our little powerhouse, was born on July 6th, 2024, and she’s already ruling the house with her sassy attitude and as mischievous as they come. Her name, Thor, came to us in a dream while Ilemina, honors the Preceptor of the House of Khrar; matching her sister’s name. Though she’s the smallest dog we’ve ever had, Thor makes up for it with her bold personality, extreme pickiness, and a knack for getting into trouble. She’s 100% sass, 100% fun, and the true boss of the pack.
